BOOK REVIEW
Reviewed by Vincent Dublado for Readers' Favorite As a love story, The Dreaming Beauty: An Enchanted Regency Romance by Anneka R. Walker is refreshing and idyllic. Marcus Taylor is brother to the Duke of Westmorland. He is expected to marry a woman who could provide him with the means to become a landed gentleman. This is the pressure that society and his mother imposed on him. Meanwhile, after suffering heartbreak from the betrayal of her betrothed, the lovely Tansy White doesn’t want to end up like her three beloved aunts. The family seems to bear the curse of chasing happiness. As a birthday surprise for Tansy’s twentieth, her aunts take her to the Lake District to see Rose Cottage, her late mother’s country home that will give her the chance to discover her mother’s past - to learn why heartbreak was so intricately connected to her aunts, and now to her. During a stormy night, fatigue catches up with her, and she ends up in a strange home, the estate of Marcus’s brother. This romantic tale is so neatly done, with a classic structure containing two heroes, a quest, an obstacle, and the prize. Anneka R. Walker provides you with entertaining content that is sustained from start to finish. From letting you get to know more about the personal lives of the two lovers, to their first-time encounter that evolves into something deeper, to the revelations of their past. It’s a feel-good fairy tale that will keep you invested in its storyline. It has a narrative flow that you won’t mind getting swept along in because you want to find out whether or not Tansy and Marcus are fated to be with each other, or if their love will simply remain a dream. Moreover, The Dreaming Beauty has an appeal that could well translate into an adapted film. It’s a great romantic fantasy, one that you would likely recommend to your friends. https://readersfavorite.com/book-review/the-dreaming-beauty Follow along for a giveaway and to discover some awesome book bloggers!

The stars of Bargaining for the Barrister by Anneka R. Walker are Louisa and Paul who won me over from their introduction to their final decisions. Louisa is a young woman who has recently lost her parents with an older brother who would like to see her happily married. Paul is young and does not want to be married for reasons that he tries hard to keep a secret. Lady Kellen and Paul’s mother form a group of friends and scheme to be matchmakers, hoping to find the perfect matches for their sons. When Louisa comes for an extended visit and meets Paul, the two do not immediately hit it off. Slowly their friendship improves but marriage is still not in the cards or is it? I really liked reading Bargaining for the Barrister: Matchmaking Mamas, #1. The storyline was very straightforward and entertaining. Bargaining for the Barrister fits all the requirements of a romantic historical novel that takes you back in time and becomes very real. Anneka R. Walker has written a great story that I hated to put down and I was hoping the story would go on and on. I so wanted to shout out and advise both Louisa and Paul. The other characters including Paul’s friends and the mothers trying so hard to make a match made the story so very appealing. It would spoil so much of the book if I give you any more information, but I do urge you to read it for yourself. I am eagerly looking forward to reading more from Anneka and highly recommend Bargaining for the Barrister. Reviewed by Trudi LoPreto for Readers' Favorite I was so excited to learn that this book won a swoony award. A fun sidenote, Brides and Brothers made it to the top three in contemporary romance and Refining the Debutante made it to the top ten in Regency Romance. This is a reader's choice award, and I feel blessed my books received so much love! Thank you, readers, for your votes!
